These wings were inspired by the wings of the breathtaking Winged Victory sculpture found at the Louvre Museum; the sculpture personifies victory after having fought a battle.
The Broken Wings Series is inspired by the constant wars we sometimes battle within ourselves. The ones we fight in silence. Every time we think we're about to take off or soar, it seems like we cut our own wings off or struggle and tear ourselves down. But there is beauty in the struggle. There is purpose in our struggle, and everything we go through makes us into the person we are today.
