Jewelry Care

Our jewelry is handmade with the utmost love and care. If you wish to keep it in it's original condition, a little maintenance every once in a while can make your piece last you years to come!

Each piece is handmade in silver, gold, bronze or brass. These metals can naturally oxidize with time; this is a normal process due to the metals properties and their reaction to elements such as exposure to sweat, moisture and oxygen. This reaction will create a natural patina over the piece. We love the look it gives to our pieces, but if you prefer to keep them looking shiny, a good jewelry polishing cloth will remove any tarnish.

For easy maintenance, polish pieces with a jewelry polishing cloth. We particularly suggest Sunshine Polishing Cloths, as they are excellent for using with any type of metal.

For a deep clean, submerge your piece in lukewarm water mixed with some dish soap (we love using blue Dawn dishsoap!) and leave it in the soapy bath for a couple of minutes. Afterwards, remove your pieces from the bath and use a soft toothbrush with some soap to carefully remove any grease, dirt or tarnish that has accumulated with time. Rinse with water, pat dry and polish with a Sunshine Polishing Cloth to give it an extra shine.

  1. Keep jewelry stored in a clean, dry place.
  2. We recommend not wearing your jewelry for sporting or swimming.
  3. Avoid prolonged exposure to household cleaning products, hand creams and perfumes; as these contain chemicals that can be harmful to metals and even some stones. This type of exposure will cause the metal to oxidize faster and you will find you need to clean or polish your pieces more frequently.
  4. Jewelry polishing cloths work great for easy maintenance and are a non-abrasive alternative to harsh polishing solutions.
